Our schynbalds are based on the funerary depiction of Charles de Boscherville , d. 1280, though similar designs can be seen in depictions for more than fifty years after. The finish shown on our reproduction is dark, hammer-rough steel with brass-leafed trim, though other options are available on request, as are variations in form and decoration.

To provide the best fit, we prefer to work from a bandage cast of the intended wearer’s shin, though photographs and measurements will suffice if taking and sending a cast is not possible.
